Le fondateur de CellarTracker a annoncé aujourd'hui l'intégration des bases de données de Burghound à CellarTracker, une mesure qui était attendue depuis très longtemps par les inconditionnels de la Bourgogne. Désormais, lorsqu'on est abonné à Burghound (c'est mon cas), on a automatiquement accès aux notes de dégustation et aux scores de Allen Meadows, directement dans CellarTracker. Bien que CT soit intégré de la sorte avec d'autres critiques internationaux, c'est la première fois qu'un critique de la stature de Meadows fait un tel partenariat. Parker a été sollicité depuis un petit bout aussi et les baisses des abonnement à son site vont peut-être le forcer à considérer plus sérieusement ce partenariat.

Quand on pense qu'on a le plus grand logiciel de gestion de cave entre les mains, CellarTracker trouve encore et toujours le moyen de me surprendre. Quel chef-d'oeuvre technologique.

I am incredibly pleased to announce a partnership with Allen Meadows. I have been doggedly pursing Allen for nearly five years, and over that time hundreds of mutual customers have expressed an interest in our potential collaboration. Good things are worth patience, and this is a very, very good thing. Allen needs little introduction among Burgundy lovers. He has been visiting the cellars of Burgundy for 30 years, and in 2001 he launched Burghound.com, a quarterly newsletter loaded with in-depth reviews of Burgundy producers and their wines. Now nearly 9 years later he has published 36 issues, more than 45,000 wine reviews and is even readying his first book, The Pearl of the Côte - The Great Wines of Vosne-Romanée. There is a saying in wine that all roads lead to Burgundy, and Allen has been instrumental in helping people explore the vinous treasures of this wonderful region. In addition, Burghound includes extensive coverage of US Pinot Noir and bi-annual reports on Champagne.

As has been the case with publications from Stephen Tanzer, John Gilman, Roy Hersh and others, Allen’s reviews, ratings and drinking window recommendations from Burghound.com are now directly integrated within CellarTracker for Burghound subscribers. If and when you subscribe to Burghound, with one simple login from CellarTracker, the reviews will automatically appear in your cellar management software. If you love Burgundy or are even just thinking about starting to learn more, I highly recommend this. One good bottle basically pays back your annual subscription, and the quality and depth of Allen’s tireless work is unmistakable.

Finally, I also want to extend a special thanks to the people who helped make this integration possible, Erica & Allen Meadows who made time amidst their travels and in the middle of self publishing their book, the wonderful Burghound.com database developer Randy Resnick, Marc Lazar of CellarAdvisors and finally Andrew Hall (a fellow CellarTracker user) who helps me incredibly with the CellarTracker database of wine definitions.

CellarTracker est désormais intégré avec les notes de Jancis Robinson.
La puissance de CT continue de se développer de façon exponentielle. J'en profite pour vous dire que j'ai échangé la semaine passé avec Eric LeVine, le fondateur de CT et il m'a confirmé que les nouveau design du site sera mis en ligne avant la fin du mois de janvier, possiblement avant Noël. Selon ses dires, les changements sont majeurs et extraordinaires.

This has been an exciting year for CellarTracker partnerships, and I am incredibly pleased to announce my latest partnership with Jancis Robinson.

While Jancis is well known internationally, I hope that CellarTracker can help to introduce her to many thousands of new wine lovers within the United States. As you may recall, Jancis interviewed me this past summer when we both happened to be passing through San Francisco, but we have actually been in earnest discussion for more than 18 months about potential collaboration. I am very happy to say that subscribers to her Purple Pages on JancisRobinson.com can access more than 32,000 of her reviews, scores and drinking windows, fully integrated within CellarTracker. (She has actually published close to 40,000 reviews on her site, but the work to synchronize the databases is ongoing. You will see us continue to make progress over the coming weeks.)

Jancis is an internationally known and highly respected independent wine writer. She writes daily for JancisRobinson.com, weekly for The Financial Times, and bi-monthly for a column that is syndicated around the world. She is also editor of The Oxford Companion to Wine and co-author with Hugh Johnson of The World Atlas of Wine, each of these books recognized as a standard reference worldwide. An award-winning TV presenter, she is invited all over the world to conduct wine events and act as a wine judge. In 1984 she was the first person outside the wine trade to pass the rigorous Master of Wine exams and in 2003 she was personally awarded an OBE by Her Majesty the Queen, on whose cellar she now advises. She loves and lives for wine in all its glorious diversity, generally favoring balance and subtlety over sheer mass. See the long version for more detail.

When I first created CellarTracker for myself in 2003 and then publicly launched the site in 2004, I dreamed of a tool that a wine collector could use to assemble all of the information about their collecting and tasting. I always hoped that CellarTracker might grow enough that I could convince established, professional wine critics to collaborate with me on behalf of our mutual customers. Slowly over the past five years that vision has taken shape in partnership with writers of small and large publications: Stephen Tanzer, Roy Hersh, John Gilman, Brad Baker, Allen Meadows and now Jancis Robinson. I strongly applaud all of the aforementioned writers for their willingness to collaborate with me on behalf of you, our mutual customers. As we each pursue our own journey through the wonderfully diverse world of wine, I think that the deep expertise which all of these professionals bring to their craft can help each of us to derive even more pleasure from wine.

J'utilisais depuis toujours mon fichier Excel sur lequel je gardais beaucoup d'informations sur mes vins.
Depuis quelques semaines, j'ai transféré ma cave d'environ 300 bouteilles sur Cellar Tracker.
Merci à tous ceux qui en ont parlé en bien ici (entre autres, BigJules) pour m'avoir fait découvrir cet outil incomparable.

Tous les tris se font très facielement, les notes de dégustation faciles à consulter. Aussi, c'est beaucoup moins long qu'auparavant pour entrer de nouvelles bouteilles dans mon inventaire. La possibilité de suivre l'évolution du vin est un autre avantage. Et que dire de la possibilité d'accéder à sa cave, peu importe où l'on est!

Tu as raison, cette fonctionnalité est gratuite. Mais tu dois t'inscire à WineBid.com de façon indépendante (gratuit, mais requiert un numéro de carte de crédit pour vérifier l'identité des gens qui vendent ou achètent sur ce site).
